The messaging platform has two versions for computers.
Like many apps have already done, WhatsApp has its own app for PC usersWhatsApp Desktop. In the case of people who choose to use WhatsApp on their PC, they can choose between the web version and the desktop version. What are their differences? We will detail them below.
Remember that the web version is older than the desktop version. The big difference between the two is that the web version must be used within the browser, while the desktop version must be downloaded and requires the navigation site to be opened.
Features of WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop functionality
The way to log in once you open WhatsApp will be to scan the QR code they show us from the mobile version in order to open WhatsApp on your computer. It works the same way with both programs.
Features like calls and video calling are currently only available on desktop.
On both the web and desktop, you can view status updates, create rooms, create new groups, go to settings, view archived chats or sign out.
other details
- WhatsApp Desktop can only be installed on computers with Windows 8 (or higher) or macOS 10.10 (or higher).
- The desktop version can take up some memory, so it is necessary to check Computer capacity and remaining memory.
- In both cases, WhatsApp will send notifications, but in the desktop version they will be done independently in the notification center, while in WhatsApp Web they will arrive through browser notifications.
- If you have to make calls or video calls, you will have to use desktop software.
