A Honduran man was murdered after work in Charlotte, USA

A Honduran man was brutally murdered on his way home from work in Charlotte, US. Here’s what’s known about the crime so far.

His name is Claudino Alfonso Contreras, 44 years old, from El Progreso, Yoro.

He is married with 4 children.

According to Contreras’ family, two men intercepted him in the parking lot of the apartment complex where they lived.

The events, which took place last Monday, May 27, were witnessed by on-campus and on-site cameras.

Two men, whose whereabouts are unknown, approached the Honduran and shot him dead.

According to a police report, officers responded to the scene for a report of an assault with weapons and when they arrived they found a man injured.

The Honduran suffered a gunshot wound, so officers called paramedics who tried to help him.

However, due to the severity of the injury, Contreras was pronounced dead at the scene within minutes of the crime.

Authorities do not yet have information about any suspects or persons detained in the case.

The Charlotte Police Department said in a statement that the case remains open.

The Honduran family decided to open a GoFundMe account to raise funds to return the body to Honduras.

They hope to raise the money needed to relocate their relative to Honduras.

They are also asking authorities to find those who took Contreras’ life.
