Who is Karina Miley, the “boss” of Javier Miley’s successful presidential campaign?

(CNN in Spanish) — After the victory of right-wing populist candidate Javier Miley in the recent elections in Argentina, attention focused on the architects of his victory. One of the central people in the life of Argentina’s new president is his sister and friend Carina Maili, whom the liberal public calls “the leader.”

Karina Miley is 50 years old, two years younger than her brother, and is single with only “dog kids.” The campaign’s press department reported that she and her brother grew up in Villa Devoto, a neighborhood in Buenos Aires, and went to high school together at the Cardinal Cubello Institute. He studied Fine Confectionery, Marketing and Communications at the University of Belgrano and Public Relations at the Argentine Business University (UADE) for five years. His extreme secrecy means he rarely speaks to the press. CNN attempted to contact Karina Miley several times for an interview and received no response.

Javier Maile mentions her in various interviews as “The Leader,” noting that she is responsible for the resounding success that led the right-wing populist leader to consolidate his power in less than five years and achieve victory in the presidential elections. During an interview published in Clarín in July 2022, Carina Miley stated that she preferred the nickname “El Jefe” rather than “La Jefa” because this nickname referred to the personality of the Vice President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, with whom he was. Preferably no contact.

As Miley mentioned to various Argentinian media outlets, his sister has “several jobs” and he even compared her to a Biblical way, saying that “Moses was a great leader, but he was not good at spreading the word and so God sent Aaron to spread the word, well ‘Carina is Moises and I “Who disclosed?”. While, on the other hand, Karina Miley told TN that her brother was “very diligent and caring” about what she directed him to.

The recent victory in the elections seems to prove his words correct, as more than 55% of voters voted for him, and the Miley brothers have gained great importance in politics in recent years.

We will just have to wait and see what role the “leader” can play in the new government. During an interview with LN+, Miley said that she could become “some kind of First Lady” and that he did everything he could to make it happen.

CNN tried to get comments from both Javier Miley and his sister to confirm the tasks he can perform in the next government. The office of the president-elect stated through a statement on Monday.
