Yesterday, the Accounts Chamber published a report on the analysis conducted by the Representative Lucia Medina Foundation, in which millionaire spending prevails without evidence, or “supporting evidence.” This is FundaciĆ³n de Mujeres para el Desarrollo de San Juan (Fumudesju), formerly AsociaciĆ³n de Mujeres para el Desarrollo de San Juan de la Maguana, Inc. (Asodemusa), previously mentioned in an audit of the Heritage Trust for Correctional Firms (Fonper), headed by the sister of former president Danilo Medina.
In that document it is indicated that the organization received 52 million pesos, out of 53 million that were intended for social projects aimed at people with limited resources, and in the end, they were received by legislators and relatives of officials, among others, who did not comply with the requirements established by the entity’s regulations.
The new audit, in which the organization’s financial and administrative operations, bonuses, purchases and social assistance are analyzed, notes that the Accounts Chamber confirmed that of the 80 million cibidos between 2013 and 2018 for Fonper, $38,250,000 was not provided.
