A number of subscribers to the electricity service alerted via social media that they were left without the service this afternoon.
An apparent blackout occurred in various cities in Puerto Rico around 4:20 p.m.
The official Twitter account of the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) has informed the public that work is underway to restore electricity service.

Meanwhile, LUMA Energy, which since June 1 has been responsible for PREPA transmission and distribution operations, reported on the same social network that “generation is restarting at AEE’s San Juan 5 and San Juan 6 units. Your electrical service may be interrupted” .
