SAN FRANCISCO — Wilmer Flores walked Evan Justice with the bases loaded in the eighth inning to hit the go-ahead run, and the San Francisco Giants rallied twice on Friday to beat the Giants 9-8 over the Colorado Rockies.
Mike Yastrzemski had an RBI single tying the eighth as well.
Justice relieved Jake Byrd (2-3) and hit a pitch to load the bases. After Venezuelan Luis Matos struck out without throwing the ball, Flores went to a full count.
After missing the strike zone, Justice also walked Lamont Wade Jr., the next batter.
This extra range proved important. Dominican Camilo Duval allowed a Nolan Jones double with two outs before grounding out his 36th save.
John Brebbia (3-0) pitched the eighth inning to earn the win.
For the Rockies, Venezuelans Ezequiel Tovar is 2-for-5 with two runs scored, Elias Diaz is 1-for-5 with one run scored and three RBIs. Dominican Elihoris Montero hit 2 for 4 with one run scored. Mexican Alan Trejo 4-1 with one goal.
For the Giants, Venezuelan Matos hit 3-for-4 with one run, and Flores went 3-for-4 with one run and three RBIs.
