“Satan” revolves around the sun and will appear again on Earth

Comet “Diablo” is very close to the sun and will be visible again on Earth, and this time it will be its closest approach to move away from its orbit.

Comet 12P Pons Brook, also called Diablo, will be visible in the Southern Hemisphere on June 2.

Roberto Carias, National Director of Science and Research at Western International School, said that “Satan” is in its orbit very close to the sun and will move away in June and reappear after 71 years, that is, in 2095.

It is worth noting that Comet Pons Brooks began leaving traces in the sky since the middle of last year, and its largest appearance was in April of this year.

Karias explained that “Satan” will pass approximately 232 million kilometers from Earth on June 2 and can be seen with binoculars.

Carias said: “Comet Diablo will currently be visible from the southern hemisphere of America in countries such as Chile, Argentina, southern Africa, and Australia.”

The astronomer determined that Comet Diablo has already lost its brightness, and that its strength is currently 6 degrees, so it is no longer visible in the regions of North and Central America.

Comet Pons-Brooks was last observed in 1954. It was officially discovered by French astronomer Jean-Louis Pons in 1812, and rediscovered in 1883 by William Brooks. Astronomers have shown evidence of sightings before 1385.
