Local media reported that Nicaraguan authorities discovered that Salvadorans were being rounded up by Interpol by entering their personal data into the computerized system of the Immigration and Immigration Directorate.
Wanted for several crimes
The Salvadorans, whose identities the police did not reveal, were wanted in their country for committing four crimes.
Their country’s judicial system requires foreigners to respond to crimes of money laundering, aggravated robbery, illegal groups and criminal associations.
The Nicaraguan police authorities have not announced whether or not those who were arrested and deported to their country of origin (El Salvador) were members of criminal groups known as gangs.
The Salvadorans were transferred from the El Guasul border post, in Nicaraguan territory, to El Amatillo, Honduras’s border with El Salvador, according to official communications.
