CDMX.- Actor John Ashton, who worked in more than 80 films, died at the age of 76 at his home in Colorado after a struggle with cancer.
“John was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him,” a statement shared by the actor read. John leaves a legacy of love, dedication and service. His memory will always be cherished by his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as his brother, sisters, extended family and all who loved him. “John’s impact on the world will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come,” his representative said.
Two months ago, the actor was present at the Hollywood premiere of Loose Detective: Axel F, in which he starred alongside Eddie Murphy, and those close to him confirmed that Ashton was optimistic and friendly despite fighting cancer. The franchise made the actor famous in 1984, helping Ashton make his way in Hollywood and leading him to star in films like Midnight Escape, Getting Authentic, and A Classy Wonder. He also participated in television and theatrical productions throughout his career.
In addition to acting, Ashton was also a famous golfer, sharing his talents in famous golf tournaments around the world for various reasons.
The actor’s family has requested that donations be made to Pathways Hospice Care in his memory in lieu of flowers.
